Over the last few years the United Synagogue has worked hard to improve our safeguarding processes. With over 15,000 young people and over 1000 volunteers across the United Synagogue family, keeping our young people safe is always a priority for us. We have identified a Community Safeguarding Coordinators in each of our 60+ synagogues who are there to act as a key liaison with our central safeguarding team. We have run a series of training for Rabbis and Rebitzens, Youth workers, Cheder staff, Tribe staff, camp madrachim and our Community Safeguarding Coordinators . We have also produced a short video for staff and volunteers which highlights key components of our child protection policy. Our child protection team meets on a regular basis to ensure our processes are up to date and appropriate. Safeguarding is of course an area where we must never become complacent and we must always seek to do everything we can to provide a safe environment.
